As the major employer and transport hub for the Stansted Area, Stansted Airport provides a strong indicator for the different transport options in the local area and their passenger usage.
There has been a consistent upward trend in the number of journeys made on public transport by passengers and staff which are either starting or ending their journeys at the Area’s major employer, Stansted Airport. The aim is to increase the percentage journeys made by public transport which reduces congestion on the local highway network and environmental impacts on the surrounding areas. The SATF will continue to monitor and report transport usage to/and from Stansted Airport.
